Industrial Relation is offered to students in the fourth year to equip students with the knowledge of recruitment, employment management, labor relations in production and trade; the role of the state, trade unions in the implementation of labor relations; rights and obligations of employees and employers; the mechanism of negotiation, collective agreement, method of handling and settlement of disputes and strikes according to the provisions of law in order to maintain stability and ensure the quality of production.
- Objectives of the subject
The subject is to provide students with the knowledge and concepts of labor relations, operational mechanisms and tripartite relationships in labor (employees – employers and the state). The subject also helps students get acquainted with negotiation skills, collective bargaining skills, labor dispute settlement skills in accordance with the law, so that they can quickly access to jobs in agencies, organizations after graduation; understand their rights and obligations when joining an organization to perform better tasks.
The subject equips students with theoretical background on issues such as labor, employment, trilateral mechanisms, bilateral mechanisms, bargaining in labor relations, labor dispute settlement, labor strikes and labor relations in Vietnam to manage and adjust labor relations in a practical and effective manner.
The subject equips students with necessary professional skills in labor relations such as:
– Effectively operate bilateral mechanism, three-party mechanism;
– Conduct social dialogue and organize collective bargaining in accordance with regulations;
– Settle labor disputes and strikes strictly according to the provisions of law;
– Apply the contents and provisions of labor relations law to solve problems arising in the course of performing the work;
– Prepare slides and presentations in fluent English;
– Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
