2. Content description

Globalization and its consequences are the most urgent and complex challenges in the 21st century. This is an inevitable trend and considered as different ways for each sector and its different territories in the world. At the macro level, it is the rise of the global economy, in which countries can tap into their potential while being aware of the risks that they can take. At the micro level, globalization requires the restructure of the regional economy and the adaptability of society, especially for third world countries. In this context, this subject will explore contemporary global issues that are changing the world economy and its implications for the socio-political and social and cultural development of developing countries.

3. Objectives of the subject

This course provides students with the knowledge of the globalization process, the mechanisms of integration of the world economy through which globalization operates and influences various aspects of life. It also helps students develop their presentation skills, critical thinking through group activities and individual exercises.

Students may:

– Understand the fundamental knowledge of Globalization and its impacts on different areas of life;

– Recognize the inevitable trend of globalization, especially the change of each country in order to adapt the integration process;

– Understand the role and structure of international organizations as well as the role of information technology in the process of globalization;

– Analyze the positive and negative aspects of globalization in terms of culture, politics, economics, finance and the environment; analyze the gap between the rich and poor and the role of globalization in poverty reduction in developing and undeveloped countries;

– Understand and analyze the beneficial and non-beneficial partners / countries from globalization;
