- Content description
The subject consists of two main sections: foreign policy theories and elements in the planning and implementation of foreign policy. In the first part, the subject deals with theories such as realism, liberalism, tectonic theory and the application of these theories to foreign policy. In the second part, the subject deals with issues such as the process of planning and implementation of foreign policy, the role of communication, the position of national security, the position of economic issues, etc. in foreign policy. The final content of the subject is about Vietnam’s foreign policy analysis, which covers a common framework for understanding the foreign policy of our Party and State.
- Objectives of the subject
After this course, students can master theories of foreign policy and apply these theories to foreign policy analysis. Students are able to grasp and understand the issues as well as the foreign policy and strategies of major countries around the world. Students also are able to analyze a specific foreign policy of nations, identify and give their arguments on international issues.
Besides, students should understand the factors that affect foreign policy and its impact; take an insight in the process of foreign policy formulation and the implementation of foreign policy; understand the basic framework for analyzing Vietnam’s foreign policy.
