American Foreign Policy Course consists of two main areas: i) The first part provides insights into common issues in American foreign policy such as the political system and foreign policy making process, tools of foreign policy or American exoticism in foreign policy; ii) The second part presents the history of American foreign policy from the establishment of the United States and focuses on the interaction between the two tendencies of isolation and interventionism in foreign policy of America. In addition, this subject also covers topics on American foreign policy in the region and with Vietnam.
- Objectives of the subject
Upon completion of the course, students have an overview of American foreign policy and have in-depth knowledge of subjects such as the three-tiered separation mechanism in American foreign policy, the exorcism, the trend toward isolation and the tendency to intervene in American foreign policy. Students also understand and analyze the American foreign policy in general and specific American strategy for the region and Vietnam.
Students have an overview of issues related to American foreign policy. Students also understand the history of American foreign policy, the operation and struggle between two isolated and interdependent tendencies in American foreign policy, understand the root causes of American intervention in Vietnam in the Cold War. Students are given the American strategy for the Asia-Pacific region in general and issues in the US-US relationship in particular today.
